With Noah Cowan, I co-curated the opening exhibition at TIFF Bell Lightbox, the Toronto Film Festival’s fantastic new venue dedicated to cinema culture. Designed by Barr Gilmore, the exhibition (titled ‘Essential Cinema’) explored TIFF’s list of the greatest film’s of all time. The show included:

• artworks by Perry Bard, BGL, Stan Douglas, Douglas Gordon, Jennifer & Kevin McCoy, Michael Nyman
• new commissions by Atom Egoyan, Guy Maddin, the aforementioned Gilmore, and James Andean & François Xavier Saint-Pierre
• artefacts including original animation cels from Saul Bass’ intro to Vertigo and the helmet used in Videodrome
